The Board of Directors proudly announces the formation of Greater Grant County as a catalyst for business, a convener of leaders and influencers, and a champion for a stronger Grant County community. This new organization has combined resources and best practices of former Grant County chambers of commerce, and now invites Grant County businesses and organizations to “Go Greater Grant!” for 2023 and beyond.
“This is a hinge moment for Grant County - a significant moment that can facilitate the momentum to reach its full potential,” said Scott Miller, Greater Grant County Board Chair. “The introduction of this new brand reinforces the mission and goal to serve all of Grant County and to strengthen the entire community,” continued Miller.
Last summer a 15-member transition team, comprised of individuals from the boards of Gas City Area, Marion –Grant County, and Upland Chamber chambers of commerce, began the process of collaboration and research to form this new organization. Greater Grant County will put member investments into action as a vibrant, inclusive business network established to steward communication, mobilize the economy, and facilitate the interdependence of Grant County communities.
The transition team set out to honor the 150+ years of combined chamber activity in Grant County as they set the vision for the future of what this new organization can be. Fourteen volunteer board members from various professional backgrounds around Grant County will comprise the board of Greater Grant County. The full list of those board members can be found on the organization’s website. There will also be a strong committee structure with room for any interested member-investors to become involved.
The staff of Greater Grant County will be familiar to those who had relationships with the previous chambers. Kylie Jackson will serve as President & CEO. Elizabeth Adams will serve as Vice President for Membership & Marketing. Rhonda Emmons will serve as Office Administrator.
“I am so thrilled for the future of this organization and, in turn, Grant County. The partnership and coordination that these three chambers have shown to put aside their own agendas to form this new, strong entity is truly inspiring, said President/CEO Kylie Jackson. “"I cannot wait to see what we are able to accomplish together!"
Greater Grant County’s brand was created in partnership with local design firm, Marion Design Co. The mark is representative of the mission to propel growth, to be a catalyst, and to accelerate. Greater Grant County is a one-stop shop that helps push people, community, businesses, and economic growth from the ground up. The arrow that comes from the “G” in the logo, alludes to the growth to of the organization to serve and reach the edges of the county and to emerge greater than before.
With offices at 217 S Adams Street, Marion; 407 W Main Street, Gas City; and with mobile service around the county, Greater Grant County is set to develop community connections that will collectively serve the towns and cities of the county, while recognizing the unique identities of each.
